The short version: Sift doesn't collect your personal data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your music library stays between you and Apple.
What Sift accesses
With your permission, Sift uses Apple's MusicKit to read your Apple Music favorites and playlists, and to make the changes you ask for: removing a song from your favorites, saving a cleaned-up copy of a playlist, or creating genre and artist playlists. These requests go directly between your device and Apple. Sift's developer never receives your library.
You can turn off Sift's access at any time in the Settings app under Privacy & Security → Media & Apple Music.
Detailed genres (Last.fm)
If you use detailed genres, Sift looks up public genre tags on Last.fm. For each song, Sift sends only the song title and artist name. It doesn't send your name, Apple ID, device identifiers or anything else about you, and it doesn't use a Last.fm account. Last.fm's handling of these requests is covered by the Last.fm privacy policy.
What's stored on your device
Sift saves a few things locally so it works the way you left it: your settings, your swipe progress, which playlists you've chosen to keep in sync, and cached genre tags. This data stays on your iPhone and is deleted when you delete the app. It isn't uploaded anywhere.
Purchases
Sift Pro purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Sift never sees your payment information. Apple tells the app only whether you have an active purchase.
